After falling underground, Yun Zhi Yue was knocked unconscious, but the Reincarnation Stone kept her informed about what was happening around her. She had long noticed that Ye Yao was a dual Ability user, but since she was just an outsider, it didn’t concern her what Ye Yao chose to do.
However, she never expected that the girl would be so bold as to collude with a Zombie. Using Eighth Level Earth Ability wasn’t a human but an Eighth Level Zombie. While others couldn’t tell the difference, it was obvious to her.
She was curious to see what tricks this girl was up to. They were currently in a more remote building, which had rusty bunk beds that resembled a dormitory. Leaning against the bed, Yun Zhi Yue slowly regained consciousness and met the gaze of two identical pairs of eyes.
Ye Yao’s big eyes sparkled with life, while the other pair lacked any human vitality—stiff and lifeless. The Zombie was relatively clean and even wore a mask, with only its eyes resembling Ye Yao’s visible outside.

“I may be a dual Ability user, but my mental strength is only at Sixth Level and not a match for Ling Xue. However, Shen Xingchuan can handle it. As long as he goes all out against Ling Xue, he will definitely force out Wei Shi’s trump card.”
Yun Zhi Yue’s eyes flickered. “Trump card?”
“Yes, the trump card.” Ye Yao’s eyes filled with hatred as she slowly recounted how her brother, Ye Zhi, had died.
It turned out that Wei Shi was the Base Leader and the father of the current Base Leader, Li Jie. According to Ye Yao’s account, he was a very upright man who had been a high-ranking official in the national security department before establishing the base.
When the world underwent its changes after an acid rain event, both plants and humans mutated. Wei Shi was determined to find a way to save humanity and focused heavily on medical research in hopes of finding a solution for the mutated Zombies.
Ye Yao’s brother, Ye Zhi, had known Wei Shi Base long before the apocalypse began. He was originally a biologist who helped the base with research in an attempt to understand why the environment had changed.
Although they hadn’t figured out the specific cause, they did find another breakthrough: waiting for Zombies to increase in level and restore themselves to a certain extent before injecting them with a serum to stimulate their brains and restore their human memories.
In this way, although life may differ, we are still human, remembering our loved ones and the teachings of humanity. Even if all humans were to become Zombies in the future, it would still be a world of order.
Hearing this, Yun Zhi Yue laughed, "Naive. Even if they truly regained their memories, Zombies are ultimately different from humans. They need blood to survive, which means endless slaughter."

The other party removed his mask, revealing a face strikingly similar to Ye Yao's—one that clearly belonged to a blood relative.
