With such thorough investigation, these two must have a grudge against you, right? Are they planning to use me and the second one as pawns?
Nie Xi casually replied, "It's not so much about using us; it's just a matter of mutual benefit. I found some information about Qin Yin. They also met with the Feng Family before they died. I suspect they learned something they shouldn't have and were silenced. No matter how capable you are, news in Chujing City is limited. I can help; killing anyone is the same, and you can help me dig deeper."
Yue Shi cut straight to the point, "Your blood relatives must come from a high background; otherwise, you wouldn't have access to information about the Feng Family. Who is it?"
Nie Xi replied meaningfully, "Guess."
Yue Shi narrowed his eyes and mentally went through everyone in the capital. Cheng Lao was the only one whose appearance was suspicious, and his reason for wanting to see his sister was quite flimsy. Without needing Nie Xi's confirmation, Yue Shi unilaterally concluded this answer.
After pondering for a moment, he said, "Having this connection indeed makes it easier for us to act. Before dealing with these two, we need to bring people from the Nie Family over."
Nie Xi was surprised. "Frame them? You really dislike Nie Zhui. We're all smart people; some things can be hinted at, and the rest can be inferred."
Yue Shi paused before saying, "It's not dislike; I simply want him to suffer eternally."
Chilled by this icy tone, Yun Shijiu looked at Yue Shi oddly. "I noticed something was off with you after that banquet; have you recently gotten your period?"
Yun Shijiu's comment made Yue Shi not react as he usually would. Suddenly, he asked, "If one day you find out you're not yourself anymore, what would you do?"
Yun Shijiu replied, "Not myself? What nonsense is that? Are you lacking nutrients in your brain? Should I get you something warm from the bathroom?"
As the saying goes, when patience runs out, there's no need to endure any longer.
A black-red powder was thrown onto Yun Shijiu's face, causing him to convulse on the sofa as if he were having a seizure, foam bubbling from his mouth and his eyes wide open, staring intensely at Yue Shi.
Yue Shi looked at the twitching Yun Shijiu and smiled. "I asked a pointless question; being yourself is up to my will whether or not to poison you."
With another wave of his hand, Yun Shijiu's convulsions stopped. He sat up and wiped the foam from his mouth with a wicked grin.
Suddenly, his suit pants ripped apart as a black-and-yellow spotted tail lashed out violently.
Yun Yue Shi's figure flickered as he dodged; however, the sofa beneath him suffered greatly and was completely ruined, along with the tiled floor that cracked under the impact.
Yun Shijiu wanted to continue but Yue Shi coldly remarked, "You broke the furniture; how are you going to explain this to your sister?"
The writhing tail froze before transforming back into smooth legs. Yun Shijiu grabbed a cushion to cover his exposed part and retorted mockingly, "You started it first! If anyone should be scolded, it's you!"
Yue Shi paused for a moment, extending his hand to gently caress the sofa. The split sofa revealed numerous writhing vines that automatically stitched the two halves back together, and once covered with a sofa cover, the seam was completely invisible.
His feet, clad in slippers, pressed against the floor, where blue flowers that thrived in shade had sprouted from the cracks of the shattered tiles. He arranged the broken tiles neatly, forming an irregular indoor flowerbed.
The entire ambiance of the house instantly took on a more forest-like feel.
"Impressive as always," Yun Shijiu remarked. "Have you taken up sewing? Your skills in patching things up are exceptional."
Nie Xi, having witnessed this scene that could shatter anyone's worldview, silently grabbed a small watering can from the balcony and began to water the unknown blue flowers.
