Nie Xi was still weak and didn’t linger for long before falling asleep. Even in her dreams, she remained restless.
Yun Zhi Yue held Nie Xi for a while until the tension in her furrowed brow eased, then quietly left the hospital and returned home.
The Reincarnation Stone had gone missing again, supposedly taking a trip to the underworld to check if it was broken, as it couldn’t measure the progress of their strategy.
Having grown accustomed to the constant chatter of the Reincarnation Stone, she found its absence unsettling. Feeling somewhat depressed, she opened the refrigerator and grabbed a can of beer, sitting by the floor-to-ceiling window to admire the starry night of the small Dimension.
Someone sat down beside her, also holding a beer, but without any intention of speaking. It felt like the quiet companionship of the soul that once inhabited her body.
She tilted her head back and took a sip, the bitter taste that humans seemed to enjoy made her murmur, “Xiao Shi, do you think in this vast world, it’s just us two Tai Chu Ling left?”
Yue Shi Ti was Shihua; even the Reincarnation Stone thought he was just a special plant from a small Dimension. It was only after meeting her that he had the chance to take on human form. Little did they know that Shihua, like her, was also a Tai Chu Ling.
In this Dimension, after Yue Shi gained human form, he awakened some ancestral memories.
Yue Shi gazed at the starry night as well and after a moment of silence said, “Sister, do you want to kill the Heavenly Emperor? I can help.”
Yun Zhi Yue looked at him in astonishment. “What did you just say? How does he know so much?” The fact that someone was following her was something even the Reincarnation Stone was unaware of; how could they joke about killing the Heavenly Emperor?
Yue Shi deliberately shaped his appearance to resemble hers but with an air of cold nobility. At that moment, he slightly tilted his head back to look at the starry sky, his eyes reflecting the night, leaving her feeling perplexed.
This younger brother had changed significantly; could it be those so-called ancestral memories were influencing him?
Seeing her filled with questions, Yue Shi slowly began to explain. “Sister, according to my memories, when Tai Chu Tian Di first opened up, vegetation was the first spirit to be born into this world. At that time, all spiritual beings revered us.”
“Later on, more and more Flying Beasts and divine beings appeared; our bodies were used for various enhancements or as materials for magical treasures, leading to our gradual extinction. Thus ended Tai Chu.”
Yun Zhi Yue frowned. “Why don’t I have such ancestral memories?”
“Because you are incomplete.”
Yun Zhi Yue frowned again. “Are you saying I lost my Xian Gu? But before Xian Gu was taken from me, I didn’t have these memories at all—none whatsoever.”
Yue Shi shook his head. “What I mean by incomplete doesn’t refer to Xian Gu; it’s because you’ve had half of your essence taken away. Everything you have now is merely half of yourself; naturally, you wouldn’t possess those memories.”
Yun Zhi Yue was astonished. “Half? Am I disabled?”
Yue Shi chuckled, "I suppose so. A seed taken in half—my sister has sprouted and continues to live as usual, but ultimately, she has lost her source and cannot be considered whole as the Primordial Seed.
Yet I am different. If my sister did not possess the Primordial Breath, I would not awaken. She nurtured me with her soul, which is why I know everything about her, including the Heavenly and Earthly Essence.
Yun Zhi Yue, however, felt no displeasure at being scrutinized; to her, Yue Shi was family.
"You know everything, so you should also understand that the Heaven and Earth Bestow Mandate belongs to the Emperor. He cannot be killed. Why do you say he can be?"
Yue Shi sneered, "Because he owes my sister. If I am not mistaken, that half of the seed has transformed into his breath, merging with the fetus when he was conceived."
