The creature before them was a grotesque sight, its black and yellow mottled skin sending shivers down their spines. It was far from beautiful; rather, it was terrifying. Compared to the Huang Eel, this thing resembled a giant snake, yet it was not a snake at all. It had three legs and a prominent bulge on its head, giving it a fierce and horrifying appearance—truly the stuff of nightmares.
Despite having faced many challenges alongside Miao Miao, they still felt their legs weaken as they stared blankly at this abomination that shattered all their previous understandings of reality. As Shijiu regained his strength, the Eerie Game continued to broadcast something, but no one had the mind to pay attention; all their focus was consumed by the enormous beast that threatened to burst through the small courtyard.
Only the handsome man in the wheelchair seemed unfazed, his gaze fixed on Yun Zhi Yue.
With a roar, as the broadcast continued, chains appeared on Shijiu's body. As he writhed, the chains began to shatter one by one from the tail end. Dark Rules raged in fury; the chains transformed into black lightning, and in an instant, dark clouds gathered in the sky, a murderous intent brewing. Unsurprisingly, this next strike would not be one of confinement but of annihilation.
"Sister!" Shijiu called out.
At that moment, purple light flashed beneath Yun Zhi Yue's feet as she stood atop Shijiu's swollen head. She quickly formed hand seals, visible purple spiritual energy enveloping her soul essence as she condensed a green talisman and pressed it onto Shijiu's forehead. From then on, she became bound to him.
The impending deadly strike immediately locked onto both Shijiu and Yun Zhi Yue. A black lightning bolt devoid of light yet seemingly encompassing all brilliance within the Eerie Game world descended upon them.
Yun Zhi Yue did not even blink as she crossed her arms and watched, showing no signs of resistance.
In the blink of an eye, a hand shot up to shield Yun Zhi Yue's head. Hei Shijiu's expression was darker than the lightning itself; veins bulged on his arms as he forcefully crushed the lightning held in his palm.
"Damn it! What kind of bad luck is this? I’m stuck with such a mess! Do you know what it means to be spoiled by favoritism and take advantage? You—a mere mortal—contracting Nai Jiao while having Ming Di support you? Is that even reasonable?"
Yun Zhi Yue raised her chin defiantly. "You could just ignore me; who’s forcing you?"
All of Hei Shijiu's pent-up frustration surged upward as he glared at the gathering storm clouds above in anger and humiliation.
What else did she want? Just because she had gained Ming Di’s favor? I’m not taking advantage of you; I’m just cleaning up your mess with those insignificant creatures from both realms while handing you this Nai Jiao.
The lightning retracted faster than it had descended, clearly waiting for that remark.
However, Yun Zhi Yue's expression shifted slightly. "Are people from both realms coming down too?"
Hei Shijiu mimicked her posture, lifting his chin with a cold smirk. "It's too late to plead for mercy now; none will survive."
Yun Zhi Yue shot back, "Which eye saw me pleading for mercy?"
As the body descended, Xiao Shijiu continuously shrank, no longer clad in coarse cloth but instead donning an exquisite Black Ancient Costume adorned with yellow patterns.
Aside from the slightly exaggerated flush on his face, he appeared to be a delicate young boy. His eyes, seemingly writhing with something beneath the surface, gave off an unsettling vibe.
Having broken free from the constraints of the Dimension and Dark Rules, Shijiu felt quite joyful. The bond of their contract made him feel close to Yun Zhi Yue. He lunged forward, wrapping his arms around Yun Zhi Yue's waist, nuzzling his small head affectionately against her belly.
"Sister!"
Great, now there was another little brother. Yun Zhi Yue instinctively rubbed her arm where the Devouring Shadow Totem rested.
With one hand resting on Shijiu's head, Song Huai said disapprovingly, "You should keep your distance from her."
