The air was thick and cold, like a spider in the rainforest wetlands spinning its web to ensnare everyone, lurking in the shadows, ready to devour its prey. As Hong Si played with the atmosphere, the chill in the hall intensified, causing a layer of moisture to form on everyone's eyelashes, their hairs standing on end.
Rain began to seep through the dry tiled floor. The Wang brothers exchanged a glance, deciding it was time to act. Previously, they had underestimated Yun Zhi Yue's abilities, but sensing her formidable nature, they had held back. Now, faced with this ridiculous formation that boded ill for them, they were unwilling to gamble with their lives. Moreover, Yun Zhi Yue had forced her brother to cut out his tongue; this was a grudge that needed settling.
Simultaneously, their gazes locked onto Yun Zhi Yue as they each shattered an eyeball in a desperate act of self-mutilation to unleash their attacks. The pain was excruciating, but it was a powerful move. Yun Zhi Yue felt a sharp pain in her navel as she was bisected.
The Wang brothers each sacrificed an arm to regain mobility and charged at Yun Zhi Yue's divided body, aiming to occupy her position. Bai Miao Miao screamed in shock: "Yun Zhi Yue!"
"Don't scream! You'll go deaf!" The chaos was overwhelming. Black smoke poured from her bisected wound, swiftly reconnecting her two halves.
"You’re immortal!" The Wang brothers were drenched in blood, leaning against each other, filled with a mix of resentment and fear as they watched Yun Zhi Yue restore herself.
Once her body was whole again, she touched her waist and remarked, "You two are foolish. I am something strange and otherworldly. Don’t forget that! There’s no human body involved here; I can create an appearance that’s pleasing. You two are too stupid to understand where the real danger lies; you deserve your fate—die already!"
Before she could finish her sentence, the brothers noticed everyone staring at them in terror. A massive writhing mass resembling black worms surrounded them like hair, frantically burrowing into their bodies. The horrific screams and sights sent chills down everyone’s spine.
At the same time, the players realized they could move again and immediately pulled Hong Si from their bodies, rushing towards freedom. But at the entrance stood a white figure ready to strike down anyone who dared escape: "Whoever runs will die!"
Yun Zhi Yue had already regrouped with her small team. With the Wang brothers gone, only people remained.
Song Huai quickly lifted Yun Zhi Yue's clothing and reached out to touch her.
"What are you doing with so many people around?" she retorted.
With an icy expression, he replied, "Next time I see you in such a state again, I won’t hold back."
Yun Zhi Yue's temper flared; she couldn’t tolerate his attitude—didn’t he care about her at all? Just as she opened her mouth to protest, Song Huai pulled her tightly into his embrace: "I can't take it anymore; I’ll go insane."
Understanding the situation, she realized she had misinterpreted his actions. Feeling a bit embarrassed, she wrapped her arms around Song Huai and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek as a way to comfort him.
Jiang Bai couldn't help but speak up, fiddling with her braids. "I mean, are you two really going to be all lovey-dovey at the wrong time and place? What’s going on here? Can we get some clarity?"
Before Yun Zhi Yue could respond, Yu Yue had already charged out with a fierce expression, heading straight for Bai.
"You set up that position just to kill my sister; you all deserve to die."
Jiang Bai thought to herself, what was she supposed to say? It felt so awkward.
Yun Zhi Yue commented, "This Yue Qi is oddly neurotic."
Bai retorted, "Aren't you all just a little unhinged? Ever since I met Yun Zhi Yue, nothing has gone smoothly."
Without needing to take action himself, he was the first to be targeted for his arrogance. As his dark hair swirled around him, it seemed to consume the Wang Family Brothers before turning toward Yu Yue.
