Song Huai raised an eyebrow, about to say something, when Yun Zhi Yue's expression changed suddenly. She collapsed into his arms, her body crackling with visible electric currents, leaving her feeling numb.
"What the hell is going on?"
"Uh, maybe you forgot to bring the last group out. There are still players in the Eerie Realm causing chaos. That's a violation; as the tour guide, you’ll face consequences."
Yun Zhi Yue cursed under her breath, "Damn his ancestors!"
The electric shocks intensified, causing Yun Zhi Yue to let out muffled groans.
The other players clearly heard the announcement from the Strange Game World: "Tour Guide Yun Zhi Yue has abandoned her travelers and failed to fulfill her duties. This is a serious violation. Please locate the missing travelers immediately and do not neglect your responsibilities."
As the shocks subsided, Yun Zhi Yue remained limp in Song Huai's embrace, gasping for breath while mentally cursing in a third language.
This ridiculous violation stemmed from that guy's overwhelming power; she felt like he was taking his anger out on her.
The other players watched in astonishment. Abandoning travelers? Aside from those who had died, no one was missing—who had been abandoned?
In the Eerie Game, punishing a tour guide for neglecting their travelers would surely make headlines in the Strange News Rankings; it was utterly bizarre.
Song Huai tightened his hold on Yun Zhi Yue and pulled out a water bottle, opening it to feed the girl in his arms.
Yun Zhi Yue furrowed her brows slightly as she took small sips, appearing obedient and clearly lifting Song Huai's spirits.
"How strategic."
Feeling soft and drained from the electric shocks, Yun Zhi Yue closed her eyes after finishing the water and nestled into Song Huai's chest, clearly unwilling to move.
This suited Song Huai just fine; he didn’t care about eating and simply held her while watching.
Jiang Bai twitched at the corners of his mouth as he took out some bread he had exchanged for. It wasn't that he doubted the food; he had Eerie Coins and didn’t need to risk eating game food.
Bai Miao Miao’s stomach growled loudly. However, looking at the fragrant Huang Eel sizzling nearby reminded her of that child’s eyes filled with emotion, making her stomach churn and unable to eat.
Other players chose whether to eat or not; ultimately, it was up to personal preference.
Though Yun Zhi Yue had her eyes closed, she spoke up just as the last person set down their chopsticks: "You can roam freely during the day, but you must return before dark to sleep."
Seeing there were no further comments, everyone paired off and left the courtyard.
Song Huai also intended to go out for a look. He glanced at the girl in his arms and smiled before lifting her up and walking away.
Jiang Bai rubbed his temples and, after taking a few steps, heard a nervous female voice behind him. "Can I follow you?"
"Your legs are your own; why are you asking me?"
Bai Miao Miao let out a sigh of relief and immediately got up to follow Jiang Bai.
Jiang Bai exchanged a glance with Song Huai. This tour guide was completely different from the strange ones they had encountered before; she was surprisingly easy to talk to.
The four of them wandered through the village. As they walked along the dirt road, Jiang Bai couldn't help but ask, "Miss Tour Guide, that abandoned traveler of yours—wasn't he from the last group? It seems like we haven't lost anyone this time."
The grinding of teeth was particularly audible as Yun Zhi Yue opened her eyes, gritting her teeth in frustration. "Don't mention that idiot! He nearly drove me insane. All the people in my group were killed by him! I was just trying to lead them!"
Bai Miao Miao gasped, "They were all killed? Humans killing humans?"
