But soon, this feeling was shattered. Amidst the fragrance of flowers, an unknown rich scent of mandrake mingled in.
Yun Zhi Yue's gaze darkened as she waved her hand to control the surrounding flowers, blocking her escape route, and then dashed toward the Snake Fruit Tree.
Damn it, it’s him again. Can’t he let her have a moment of peace in this Dimension?
Ah, so perceptive. But how naive to think the flowers could stop me.
The orange-red flames of the Phoenix ignited, causing the beautiful flowers behind her to wither and quickly turn to ash.
She found herself held tightly by a stunning man dressed in crimson robes. His fiery red eyeliner was striking, drawing attention to his imposing gaze.
The two locked eyes. Yan Lue leaned closer, inhaling her scent: "Indeed, you’re not a Beast. The Serpent Clan scent on you has been added; your original smell is just like the forest. Could it be that you’re truly a Forest Spirit?"
Yun Zhi Yue coldly stared at him: "Let go of me."
Yan Lue's fingers traced her cheek: "You’re quite cute and interesting. From now on, be my maid and I’ll give you a name."
"I’m Yun Zhi Yue; I don’t need you to name me. And with your ugly appearance, it’s obvious you belong to the Phoenix race, smelling like roasted chicken. No wonder no maid wants to serve you."
"I am the Serpent Tribe High Priestess; naturally, I look down on you. However, if you’re willing to be my attendant, I might tolerate your foul odor."
The smile in Yan Lue's eyes slowly faded as his hand moved from her cheek down to her neck: "You have quite the audacity."
Yun Zhi Yue mocked: "You’re the one with audacity—what a foolish brain to dare come alone to the Azure Tower Continent. Do you want to die?"
A green light flickered in her eyes as wooden spikes shot up from beneath Yan Lue’s feet, forcing him to release her and dodge.
They separated, and Yun Zhi Yue continued to control the plants attacking while running further away.
Fire overcomes wood; she couldn’t stop Yan Lue at all. But for this brief moment, she had bought herself enough time as two black snakes uncoiled their tails and shot forward like lightning.
Being so small made it difficult for her to withstand the strikes of the two snakes. The sky was ablaze with fire when a bird resembling a phoenix emerged, its entire body a vibrant orange-red.
The fiery feet collided with the two snake tails, and surprisingly, the black scales were torn apart by its claws.
Yun Zhi Yue's pupils constricted; it was the first time she had seen the brothers at a disadvantage in battle.
However, Yan Lue was not completely unresponsive; he staggered slightly from the impact but quickly reached out toward her.
Mo Li and Mo Ran hissed as the two snakes intertwined. One of them was suddenly thrown towards Yan Lue, attempting to block him before he could reach her.
This time, the black snake didn’t have time to whip its tail; Yan Lue's claws grasped its head. In an instant of pain, the snake’s body thrashed wildly as blood flowed into its dark green eyes.
A flash of malice crossed Yun Zhi Yue's eyes as she gathered the Yin Power of the Underworld in her hands, transforming it into a massive black claw that struck Yan Lue.
"Who gave you permission to use Meng Po's powers? You really don't want to live!"
Before she could finish her sentence, a bolt of lightning descended from the clear sky, striking Yun Zhi Yue directly. She spat out a mouthful of blood and fell to the ground.
"Yun Zhi Yue!"
Two serpentine figures transformed into human forms and lunged forward. Yan Lue was also hit by the Yin Power, his flames dimming as he cast a glance at Yun Zhi Yue before soaring into the sky.
Electricity coursed through his body as he cursed at the Reincarnation Stone, using his own strength to support her. The pain was fleeting and soon subsided.
"I'm fine, don't worry. My head is just a bit bruised. Let's go."
Yun Zhi Yue gently touched Mo Ran's blood-stained face, noticing a deep scratch on his forehead that was oozing blood. She couldn't help but wonder if it would leave a scar.
