"Wow, accurate intuition. No wonder you're a big shot; this man is a bit difficult to handle."
"Of course, just look at who he is."
"Who is he?"
"None of your business," he immediately shut her down, irritated. "It's none of your concern, just do what I say."
Yun Zhi Yue remained silent, and Nan Jing didn't press for an answer either. He stood up and casually lifted her, settling her on his lap.
Ru Xue's skin was captivating against the backdrop of the mountains, a sight to behold.
At that moment, Nan Jing seemed to revert to his usual calm and reserved demeanor. He picked up the discarded clothing and helped her put it on. Just as the garment was fully lowered, he halted her, gripping her exposed waist with a slight force.
Yun Zhi Yue frowned. "Are you done yet?"
Nan Jing didn't respond but let his hand slide upward slightly.
Yun Zhi Yue's expression changed. "Jing Ge, don't make me uncomfortable."
He nodded and withdrew his hand. "Then learn to adapt. I'm quite obvious; I'm pursuing you."
Direct and straightforward—this was the kind of approach Yun Zhi Yue liked about Nan Jing. If it was yes, then it was yes; if it was no, then it was no. He was strong-willed and direct—handsome!
Her face flushed like the moonlight, tinged with shyness. With nowhere to hide, she nestled into Nan Jing's shoulder, looking both obedient and soft. Who could resist that?
"Progress level."
Damn, it only increased a little; she really wanted to spit at him.
Nan Jing gently caressed her back. "Yun Zhi Yue, you know me. I've been persistent since childhood; I have to make this happen."
"We've been through many years together. Jing Ge hopes you'll be by my side in the future. If you can't accept it for now, I won't force you. I'll give you time, but not too long—understand?"
Yun Zhi Yue murmured an acknowledgment and nuzzled against Nan Jing's neck a few times before finally stilling.
They didn't go anywhere; they simply embraced quietly in the car for a long time. After glancing at the sky, Nan Jing finally took her back to the Yun Family.
As they parted ways, Nan Jing reminded her, "Yue Tong has quite a reputation in the country; she's won awards for composing and painting."
But I feel there's something off about this person; there have been so many accidents around him over the years. Shootings, car crashes, robberies—each time it seems to involve him, yet somehow, it has nothing to do with him.
No matter what he plans to do, you must be cautious. Don’t show any hostility, and call me immediately if anything happens. Do you understand?
Yun Zhi Yue nodded seriously. Now that she was just an ordinary human, she naturally had to be careful.
As they parted ways, Nan Jing reached out and gently rubbed her cheek. Little did they know that every move was being closely observed by Yue Tong, who stood on the third-floor terrace of Yun Family Villa.
The warmth of the day had long faded, replaced by a cold and fierce demeanor in her deep-set eyes. Just looking at her made one feel that something was very wrong.
When Yun Zhi Yue entered the house, she ran into Yue Tong coming downstairs.
“Did you go to your room?” Yue Tong asked. “Your old bedroom is still being tidied up by Dad; nothing has changed.”
Yue Tong smiled and nodded. “I really appreciate Yun Shu. If it weren't for Yun Shu taking care of me back then, I wouldn’t know what to do.”
In the Yun Family Villa, she was the only one living on the third floor. During high school, Yue Tong's room was right across from hers. Her father said this arrangement was meant to minimize their awkwardness.
Hearing Yue Tong say this, Yun Zhi Yue cautiously asked, “I heard your family moved into my house recently; is that true?”
“Yeah, we went bankrupt. My dad also passed away,” Yue Tong replied lightly, as if she had long since come to terms with it.
Yun Zhi Yue was taken aback and quickly apologized. “I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to bring it up. So you came here with your aunt to relax?”
“I’ve never met my mother; my dad raised me alone,” Yue Tong said.
Yun Zhi Yue froze for a moment, unsure of how to respond and feeling a bit awkward for probing into such a painful topic.
