The scent of red wine lingered at her fingertips. 0

She pulled out a cigarette, but was stopped by Xiao Yang, who pressed down on her hand. 0

His eyes were shadowed with darkness. "Who allowed you to smoke?" 0

His fingers were long and strong, gripping her wrist tightly enough to cause pain. 0

Yet her fingertips felt slightly warm. 0

She used to smoke often. 0

Xiao Yang never had the heart to say a harsh word to her. 0

He always kissed her with fervent lips. 0

He would only stop when her lips were swollen and red. 0

How much he loved her back then! 0

But now, he had changed. 0

Zhou Ya held back her tears. "Xiao Yang, please don’t be with Yue Shan." 0

He didn’t answer. 0

Zhou Ya already knew the answer. 0

Xiao Yang had lost his memory for Zhou Ya's sake. 0

During high school, Zhou Ya came from a poor family; her parents had passed away long ago. 0

She often suffered bullying from classmate Yue Shan. 0

Yue Shan was the daughter of the richest man in town, while she was an orphan who could barely afford tuition. 0

This disparity in their identities left Zhou Ya powerless to resist. 0

Yue Shan poured the spoiled food into her lunchbox. 0

She spilled chicken blood on the stool she was sitting on. 0

She even placed a needle inside her sanitary pad. 0

Zhou Ya often carried wounds on her body. 0

She silently endured. 0

Until the day the college entrance examination ended. 0

She stood on the rooftop of the fourth floor, facing the wind, despairingly closing her eyes. 0

With one step forward, all her pain would end. 0

Xiao Yang rushed over with red eyes, kneeling in front of her with a thud. "Zhou Ya, please don't jump." 0

"Don't you want a family?" 0

"I'm here to be your family, okay?" 0

Zhou Ya stared at him in a daze. 0

Xiao Yang continued, "I will protect you and give you a warm home." 0

"Please don't do anything foolish anymore, alright?" 0

His eyes were moist, his voice choked with emotion. 0

Zhou Ya looked at him, and a glimmer of warmth touched her sorrowful heart. 0

She decided to come down. 0

Xiao Yang sighed in relief, cautiously approaching her and reaching out to embrace her. 0

He stepped on a rolling stone, losing his balance and falling backward. 0

His hands still reached out to Zhou Ya. "Grab my hand!" 0

Zhou Ya reached out to him but only touched emptiness. 0

Xiao Yang fell from the fourth floor, blood blooming on the ground. 0

His face was pale as he struggled to lift his hand. "Zhou Ya, promise me you'll live well." 0

"You are someone I would cherish with my life." 0

"Don't do anything foolish again; it will break my heart." 0

Zhou Ya collapsed onto him, crying uncontrollably. "Xiao Yang, you fool!" 0

"Fool!" 0

She owed Xiao Yang a tremendous debt of gratitude. 0

She also owed the Xiao Family a significant favor. 0

Zhou Ya arrived at the foot of the Xiao Yang's building and noticed that the lights in his home were still on. 0

She opened the door and walked in. 0

Xiao Yang sat on the sofa, looking unwell. "What are you doing here?" 0

Zhou Ya hung her bag on the back of the door and casually changed her shoes. "I can't relax if you don't go home." 0

"You’re back, so you should rest early." 0

Xiao Yang scoffed coldly and directly ordered her to leave. "Miss Zhou, I need to rest now. Please leave." 0

Zhou Ya feigned calmness. "Fine, I'll leave after you go inside." 0

Xiao Yang laughed in anger, "Zhou Ya, what on earth are you doing?" 0

"Do you have to meddle in my affairs?" 0

Zhou Ya ignored him and bent down to change her shoes. 0

Xiao Yang deliberately bumped into her. 0

Zhou Ya stumbled slightly, steadying herself against the wall. 0

Xiao Yang shot her a cold glance and walked straight into the bedroom. 0

Zhou Ya looked at the empty living room, her hands tightly gripping the strap of her bag. 0

It felt as if a needle had stabbed her heart. 0

Xiao Yang emerged from the bedroom, holding a cold beer. 0

His gaze swept over Zhou Ya, and his thin lips parted slightly, "Why are you still here?" 0

Zhou Ya lifted her eyes to glance at the slippers on the shoe rack, a blue rabbit design. 0

Her gaze froze. 0

Had Yue Shan come? 0

Back in high school, she had been bullied mercilessly by Yue Shan after they wore the same blue T-shirt. 0

Since then, she had developed a hatred for the color blue. 0

She despised everything related to Yue Shan. 0
