When I woke up, I found myself tightly bound. My father stood in front of me, with that dead tree I had seen before looming nearby. The tree bore a cluster of strange fruits. 0

This was the first time I heard my father speak with such venom. He grabbed me and dragged me beneath the tree. 0

"Do it," he commanded. 0

I shook my head. "Father, I'm your son. Please let me go." 0

He looked at me coldly. "Your Sister begged me just like this once, and now she’s in the tree." 0

"Don't blame me for being cruel; you were the one who misbehaved first." 0

With that, he sliced open my wrist, and blood flowed from the wound into the trunk of the tree. The branches quickly grew out, wrapping around me and sucking my blood. 0

As I lost more blood, dizziness overwhelmed me. My father picked up the small vial given to me by the Village Master, his face twisted in disgust. "That Old Witch is still as repulsive as ever." 0

He crushed the vial in his hand. "Die." 0

The Bells rang out once more. The branches tightened around me, making it hard to breathe. 0

"Father..." I looked at him helplessly, hoping he would spare me. 0

He gazed at me with indifference, not uttering a word. Just then, my mother suddenly spoke up: "Zhou Ming's father, hurry and kill him to avoid prolonging this nightmare." 0

My father stared at her, and it seemed they had reached a silent agreement. 0

Father rang the bell again. 0
The branches of the tree wrapped tightly around me, and I fell weakly to the ground. 0
In my dazed state, I heard Mother shout, “Zhou Ming, are you going to kill me too?” 0
I saw Father pinning Mother to the ground, cutting her with a knife, leaving deep gashes on her skin. 0
She grabbed the bell from him and freed me from the branches. 0
“Zhou Ming, you must go.” 0
Mother looked at me urgently, “Hurry.” 0
I struggled to stand up and walked toward the door. 0
But before I could step outside, a sudden change occurred. 0
I heard Mother let out a muffled groan, and then the branches of the tree wrapped tightly around her. 0
More and more vines appeared, eventually forming a cocoon around her. 0
I couldn't see her expression anymore. 0
Father's cold voice came from outside, “You wretched woman, it’s an honor for you to sacrifice your life for me. How dare you resist? You think you can save your son? Dream on! You two will be my offerings together! Hahaha!” 0
“With you both, I will fully control the Tree Spirit.” 0
“Then I will achieve immortality!” 0
Another round of bells rang out. 0
The tree's branches surged toward me again; I couldn’t dodge in time and was wrapped up once more. 0
“Zhou Ming, these trees fear fire.” 0
From within the cocoon came Mother’s voice: “The candle, quickly.” 0
I struggled to move to the candlestick and knocked over a candle. 0
The flame fell onto the tree, which let out a piercing scream. 0
The branches entangling me quickly retreated, and even Father let out a cry of pain. 0
But the cocoon around Mother did not loosen at all. 0

Her voice grew weaker. "Zhou Ming, your father, I hate you. For you, I didn't even spare my own child, and in the end, you actually killed me." 0
"I curse you to a miserable death!" 0
But my father laughed heartily. "Fool, do you really think I don't know about your little schemes?" 0
"If it weren't for the fact that you gave birth to two children for me, I would have killed you long ago." 0
"Now, just go in peace." 0
"I am about to fully master the Tree Spirit. At that time, I can kill or torture as I please." 0
"I can harm others and extend my life; I will not die!" 0
Taking advantage of his maniacal laughter, I quietly slipped out the door. 0
But I was still discovered. 0
The tree and my father chased after me as I desperately ran forward. 0
At that moment, the valley master stepped out from the corner. 0
