When Aunt Wang returned, it was already the following evening. She looked around the village and saw that I was the only one left alive; her tense expression relaxed a little. 0

Aunt Wang asked, "How are you still alive?" 0

My eyes were slightly red, and my voice choked as I replied, "The monk in the village killed everyone." 0

"Even the talisman you gave me was taken by that monk." 0

Aunt Wang's face changed dramatically upon hearing this. "What? That damned monk dared to steal my talisman!" 0

Furious, Aunt Wang stood up, ready to confront Hui Kong. I grabbed her wrist firmly. "Aunt Wang, don’t go now." 0

"That monk is very powerful. If you go now, you might fall into her trap." 0

"She took your talismans; she must be trying to lure you out." 0

Aunt Wang suppressed her anger. "Then what should we do? The talismans must be retrieved!" 0

I nodded. "Aunt Wang, don’t worry, I have a plan." 0

"If that monk dares to come after me again, I will definitely make her spit out the talismans." 0

"But..." 0

I hesitated, "Aunt Wang, you need to teach me how to deal with that monk." 0

Aunt Wang frowned at my request. "Nonsense! You’re just a child; how can you handle someone like her?" 0

I held onto Aunt Wang's hand tightly. "Aunt Wang, please teach me. I can't just sit here and wait for my doom." 0

Aunt Wang hesitated for a moment before pulling out a Binding Spirit Lock from her pocket. 0

"Fine, take this." 0

"If that monk dares to come after you again, throw this at her when she’s not paying attention." 0

"It can temporarily hold her in place." 0

I took the Binding Spirit Lock and confirmed eagerly, "Really?" 0

Aunt Wang smiled and ruffled my hair. "Of course it’s real; when have I ever lied to you?" 0

Hearing this made me smile back. "Then Hui Kong can just wait for her doom." 0

As soon as the words left my mouth, I grabbed the Bloodthirsty Blade and plunged it into Aunt Wang's chest. 0

Aunt Wang was stunned, collapsing to the ground. 0
"Why... why are you doing this?" 0
I looked at Aunt Wang, tears streaming down my face. 0
"Aunt Wang, if I don't kill you, you won't let me go." 0
"Isn't that so?" 0
Aunt Wang's eyes widened in disbelief. "What... what are you talking about?" 0
I chuckled softly, "From the very beginning, you never intended for the village chief to succeed." 0
"You were just using their hands to raise a mermaid." 0
"And then you planned to use my body for your resurrection." 0
"But you didn't expect the village chief to choose the wrong person and place the wrong bet." 0
"Even more unexpected was Hui Kong stepping in and disrupting your plans." 0
"Now that the village chief is dead, your resurrection plan has also failed." 0
"You never had good intentions!" 0
Aunt Wang's eyes widened further. "You... you..." 0
I smiled at her. "Aunt Wang, in your next life, don't do bad things anymore." 0
Aunt Wang slowly closed her eyes, dying without peace. 0

At midnight, Hui Kong finally arrived. 0
He looked at me and then at Aunt Wang's lifeless body on the ground, clearly surprised. 0
"You..." 0
I wiped the blood from my face and smiled. "Master, what's wrong?" 0
Hui Kong smirked slightly. "Nothing, I just didn't expect you to go this far." 0
I chuckled softly. "I just want to survive; is that wrong?" 0
Since birth, I had never been favored by anyone. 0
At first, I didn't understand; later, I did. 0
Human nature is inherently evil; no one would treat you well for no reason. 0
My sister died; she was happier than I was. 0
At least Mother favored her for over a decade, pampering her for years. 0

Though I ultimately died, life is but a fleeting moment, like the brief existence of grass and trees. To find joy for even a single day is a blessing. 0

Hui Kong remained noncommittal, pulling me along as he said, "Your karma has come to an end; I will take you away." 0

I looked up at Hui Kong while he held onto me. In that moment, I struck the Binding Spirit Lock that Aunt Wang had given me against his chest. The instant the Binding Spirit Lock made contact with Hui Kong, it activated immediately. 0

Hui Kong collapsed to the ground, shock evident in his eyes as he stared at me. I crouched down in front of him and said, "Hui Kong, do you know?" 0

"I grew up in an environment filled with malice." 0

"So I have never believed that anyone would be kind to me for no reason." 0

"But you saved me twice." 0

"That has shaken my beliefs." 0

"Perhaps you truly have compassion for me." 0

"Unfortunately, your ruthlessness sends chills down my spine." 0

"I do not believe you can genuinely feel compassion for me." 0

Hui Kong gritted his teeth and replied weakly, "I really did save you twice." 0

"You can't kill me just because of a guess!" 0

I smiled slightly. "Of course, I'm not killing you because of that guess." 0

"I never told you my birth date." 0

"How did you know I am of the extreme yin constitution?" 0

Hui Kong's face turned pale. 0

I laughed as I pulled the knife from Hui Kong's body and plunged it into his chest. 0

Hui Kong, from the very beginning, you knew everything. You saved me twice merely to gain my trust. You wanted to use my hand to eliminate those who sought to possess you. Then, through the hands of the dead, you aimed to kill me. 0

Unfortunately for you, I am also a master. 0

I was never physically suited for Cultivation. My master said that even if I practiced for ten years, I would not be as good as others who had only trained for a month. Those four words haunted me like a nightmare for twenty years. Until the village chief of Mermaid Village came to find me. 0

He told me that he knew of a body with extreme Yin energy that could aid in cultivation. Without hesitation, I followed the village chief to Mermaid Village. I successfully protected a child. I poured my heart and soul into cleansing the karma that clung to him, crafting a perfect vessel for him. 0

Unfortunately, when everything came to an end, that child used the dagger I had given him to stab me in the chest. He looked at me with a bright smile and said, “Daoist, thank you. If it weren’t for you, I would have been taken over long ago.” 0

“It's a pity that no matter how much you calculated, you never expected that I would use the hands of the dead to kill you. This way, you won’t come looking for me again. I will live just fine. We owe each other nothing.” 0

In that moment, I finally understood. My master was right. I truly was not suited for cultivation; the extreme Yin body was indeed clever and had its advantages. But unfortunately, they were too greedy. They sought immortality and wished to be free from disaster and illness, resorting to any means necessary. 0

After killing all those who threatened me, I stayed in the village for a few more months and thoroughly mastered the method of nurturing mermaids. Such secret techniques should never be lost. 0
